Claybourne “Braddah Smitty” Smith, 60, of Hilo and Laupahoehoe, died June 9 at home. Born Feb. 3, 1952, in Honolulu, he was a musician, hope kahu of Ke Ola Mau Loa in Waimea, founder of Laupahohoe Music Festival and member of Big Island Riders and Sons of Hawaii.
Friends may call at 5 p.m. July 12 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 7 p.m. services. Friends may call again from 9 to 11 a.m. July 13 at the chapel. Burial follows at Alae Cemetery. Family requests aloha attire be worn. Flowers and lei are welcome.
He is survived by wife, Suzanne Smith, of Hilo; children, Psalm Smith, Zion Smith and Jena Smith, allof Las Vegas, Luka (Tiffany) Smith, of California, John (Rayann) Merritt-Filkins, of Kurtistown, Zele Smith, of Kohala, Eva Ayau, of Volcano, Jenifer Lustig, Laura Victor and Ashley Espaniola, all of Hilo; brother, Charles Smith, of Florida, Haulani (George) Wong, of Honolulu; numerous grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
